12/30/2023 0 Comments Orcs must die 3 multiplayerThe Unique Upgrades for the Ceiling Laser are going to be your main priority as they can really raise the amount of damage players can output with the Ceiling Laser. UNIQUE UPGRADESĪs mentioned earlier, in order to gain access to the Unique Upgrades for the Ceiling Laser, players will have to deal 5,000 damage while using a Ceiling Laser. The third upgrade costs 8 Skulls and will reduce the cost of the Ceiling Laser to 650 Coins. The second upgrade costs 6 Skulls and will reduce the cost of the Ceiling Laser to 700 Coins. The first upgrade costs 4 Skulls and will reduce the cost of the Ceiling Laser to 750 Coins. In regards to particular upgrade tiers these are the following for the Ceiling Trap: The reality is that players will want the Ceiling Trap reduced in cost so they can place more of them as stacking them next to each other can be extremely powerful, especially when placed in tandem with other traps that slow mobs so the laser can deal the most damage. When it comes to Level Upgrades, players may not be super interested in getting these quickly simply due to the fact that they are all focused on reducing the cost of the Ceiling Laser’s placement. Much like other standard traps the Ceiling Laser has two types of upgrades, being Level Upgrades which can be unlocked immediately and Unique Upgrades which require players to deal 5,000 damage when using Ceiling Lasers.Īs mentioned earlier, I strongly believe that Ceiling Lasers should be upgraded immediately due to the fact that they are so powerful and placing them is going to be a huge asset to a player, especially if they get access to them early in their playthrough. While 19 damage doesn’t seem like much, when players see this side by side with the fact that Ceiling Lasers are never technically off they will realize just how good these Traps are. The best thing about the Ceiling Laser is the fact that they essentially have an indefinite range, having a limit of 100 squares in range, which will rarely ever be “too high” for players. The Ceiling Laser is one of the only traps that doesn’t have a cooldown and will constantly damage enemies, dealing 19 damage per second to enemies.Ĭeiling Lasers deal Lightning Damage when they are not upgraded and will cost 850 Coins in order to place. While players may not want to place two of these traps side by side, there is no negative effect on this as each laser will deal continuous damage when they touch an enemy. This essentially means that they take up 0.5×3 “standard” squares on the map, making them very skinny and long. CEILING LASER BASE STATSĬeiling Lasers are a very powerful trap that take up 1×6 squares on a map when placed. Players may be hesitant to purchase the Ceiling Laser because of the cost of Skulls, which I can’t currently locate since I’ve already purchased it, but I have to tell you I’ve never looked back on this purchase because of how powerful they really are. Unlike many of the other traps that are available in Orcs Must Die 3, the Ceiling Laser must be purchased by using Skulls. I strongly recommend focusing on your Ceiling Laser’s upgrades over most other traps due to how powerful and consistent it is, at dealing damage.īy far, this is my most used trap as long as there is enough celling space in a map to use it. How many Skulls do I have to shift around upgrades to ensure that the traps I currently have are fully upgraded and does it matter? What is the immunity or the weakness that the mobs have on this current map? What does the map look like in regards to placement of traps and types of traps? What is your favourite form of dealing damage? When it comes to the Ceiling Laser players will have to question the following before placing it in their roster: The lovely thing about the Ceiling Laser is that it has a fairly infinite range, meaning that players can essentially place them as high as they need, though players can test whether this is true or not by placing the trap and selling it immediately if they are not happy with the placement. The unfortunate reality is that there are many maps that don’t have an ideal placement for Ceiling Lasers, specifically those that don’t have a ceiling long enough for the Ceiling Laser or don’t have any ceilings at all. The only issue with the Ceiling Laser is their size and the fact that they must be placed on the ceiling. I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am to write this post as the Ceiling Laser is by far my absolute most favourite trap to ever be introduced in Orcs Must Die.Īt first when I purchased the Ceiling Laser I was a bit worried that I had just wasted my Skulls on an item I wasn’t going to use, but nothing could be further from the truth as the Ceiling Lasers are by far one of the most powerful traps you can ever choose to place in the game, especially upgraded.
